JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY


 

Want to get in shape for your next sport? Simply stay in shape? Love to run? Up for a CHALLENGE? Be partof a team where EVERYONE counts? Then cross country is the sport for you! The cross country team begins to get together in the summer, twice a week, to begin to build up our endurance. We also run in a few local road races. During the fall, we practice daily after school. We typically have one meet per week throughout the season, September - October.  As part of the cross country team, each athlete runs a 3.1 mile course on meet days. Our home course begins by the girl's softball field, loops behind the track, and then off into the woods. As we travel to compete at other schools, the cross country courses vary, some more challenging than others.
