Middle School Student Council
Middle School Student Council is a small student-run council for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Participating members' grades must be an A/B average over the course of the previous school year. Students who meet the qualification are then voted on by their peers. Eight members make up each grade level with an additional member if there is a tie. The eighth-grade members consist of representatives and class officers. Voting takes place for president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer of the eighth-grade class. The middle school student council meets on a monthly basis to discuss student activities and make decisions about planned student council events. Relay for Life of Windber is the service project that we donate to each year. Over the course of the school year, students participate in different activities and raise money for Relay for Life of Windber. Some activities in the past include: dances, Relay for Life fundraising, class shirts for 8th graders, canned food drives, dodgeball tournament, Relay Field Day, Santa's Workshop, and incentive days.
