GIRLS TENNIS LOSES TO HOLLIDAYSBURG

 

The first singles was played by senior Riley Hanley. She lost both of her sets (0-6)(1-6). Riley had some amazing hits and tried her best throughout the match. 

The second singles was played by Kira Labosky who also lost both of her sets (5-7)(3-6). Kira had some great forehands and was able to keep the ball on the other team's side over the course of the match.

The third singles was played by senior Baylee Wojak who lost her first set (3-6) but made a comeback and won the second set (5-4) sending her into a tiebreaker. She won the tiebreaker (12-10).

Baylee said, “At that point in the match, I felt like I had worked really hard to win the second set after losing the first, so I did not want to give up the tiebreaker without a fight!”.

Then the doubles teams also played. The first doubles team was played by senior Peyton Betcher and junior Rebecca Wright. This doubles team lost both their sets (1-6) (1-6). These two made a great pair and communicated well throughout the match.

The last doubles team was played by junior Sommer Bloom and sophomore Jacklyn Bloom. This team also lost (0-6) (1-6), the sisters make a great doubles team.

The next match is on Thursday, August 29th, starting at 4, against Indiana at the Windber High School tennis courts behind the Windber Elementary School.
