Windber Derails Portage in Overtime

In the first quarter, the Ramblers held the Mustangs to 11 points, while scoring 14 to take a three-point lead. The lead disappeared in the second quarter, however, as Windber was outscored by the Mustangs 12-4. Going into the locker room at the half, the score was 23-17 in favor of the Mustangs.
In the second half, each team came out strong and scored 12 in the third quarter, leaving Windber trailing by 6 entering the final frame. The Ramblers turned it on in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 22-16 during an action-packed finish, and tied the score at 51-51 to send the game to overtime.
In overtime, the Ramblers overcame a technical foul and pulled away from the Mustangs to win the game by a score of 66-58.
Windber sophomore Keith Charney led the Ramblers with 19 points in the game. Sophomore Caden Dusack added 15, and senior Dylan Napora chipped in 14.
The win improves the Ramblers’ record to 9-5 on the season. Windber will travel to Rockwood on Thursday night and Conemaugh Township Friday night to wrap up the week.
