Exciting Summer Learning Opportunities for Windber Student

We recognize that summer is a very busy time for families, and we are not trying to overwhelm anyone. Our goal is simply to provide options to help keep learning going over the break. If your child is unable to participate, we completely understand. These opportunities are offered as a support, not an expectation. We’re just proud to offer meaningful ways for students to stay engaged.

We also understand that some families may be interested in multiple camps, and that may require prioritizing based on your schedules and availability. Please note that all summer programming will conclude by the end of June, as the District will begin several major summer facility projects in July.

Transportation will be provided for the camps/programs being held at the Windber Area High School.  Transportation will not be provided for the Physical Fitness Challenge Camp as well as the Environmental Camp, as they are at Camp Hamilton. 

📚 Summer School Programs

For students in need of extra academic support, we will once again offer:

  • Elementary Summer Acceleration Camp – Focused on reinforcing key skills and helping students stay on track.

  • Middle and High School Summer School – Providing students with the opportunity to strengthen their learning and prepare for the next school year.

🗓️ Both programs will run for three weeks in June, supported by dedicated teachers working closely with students to ensure success.

🎨 Enrichment Camps

In addition to summer school, we are thrilled to offer a series of enrichment camps that provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences in a variety of subject areas.

📍 Location: Windber Jr./Sr. High School

(Due to the HVAC system replacement at the elementary school, most camps will be held here.)

📍 Location: Camp Hamilton

🍽️ Meals: Breakfast & lunch will be provided for all camps held at Windber Jr./Sr. High School. All students attending camps at the school will be required to report to the cafe for breakfast and then will be taken to their classroom. 

These interactive and meaningful summer experiences will allow students to explore new interests, build essential skills, and make lasting memories with their peers and teachers.
