The Windber Area School District is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $75,000 PAsmart Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This highly competitive grant will allow us to expand STEM opportunities for our students, with a particular focus on developing problem-solving skills through hands-on drone creation and programming projects.
With this funding, our students will have access to cutting-edge technology and the opportunity to engage in real-world applications of engineering, coding, and design. Through this initiative, they will not only learn the technical skills behind drone programming but also enhance their critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration — all essential skills for success in the 21st-century workforce.
Superintendent Mike Vuckovich shared, “We are incredibly excited and grateful to be selected for this grant award. This investment in our students’ education will open new doors for innovation and exploration, helping to prepare them for future careers in STEM fields and beyond. We can’t wait to see the creativity and problem-solving our students will demonstrate through this project.”
Windber Area School District extends its sincere thanks to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for supporting our efforts to provide premier learning opportunities. We look forward to watching our students soar — both in the classroom and beyond — thanks to this exciting program!
