Dear Windber Families,
As a district, we recognize that these continue to be challenging times for many families in our community. We also understand that some benefits and assistance programs, such as SNAP, have recently changed or been temporarily delayed, creating additional stress for those in need.
In response, the Windber Area School District is organizing a Thanksgiving Food Drive and Distribution Event on WEDNESDAY, November 26th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Windber Area High School.
Each participating family will receive a packaged (cooked) Thanksgiving meal, which includes:
🦃 Turkey
🥔 Mashed Potatoes
🍞 Stuffing
🌽 Corn
🍒 Cranberry Sauce
🍰 Dessert
In addition to the Thanksgiving meal, each family will also receive a box of groceries to provide additional support beyond the holiday.
Because supplies are limited, we are asking families to sign up in advance so we can prepare accordingly and ensure that we are able to serve as many families as possible.
At Windber, we believe strongly in the power of community, compassion, and care. This effort is not meant to overstep, but rather to extend a helping hand and show our students what it means to support one another in times of need.
