In partnership with PA CareerLink, we invite you to attend an informational meeting for employers interested in learning more about a summer employment program designed to connect motivated students with local worksites. This meeting will provide an overview of the program, outline employer expectations and benefits, and allow time for discussion and collaboration. Last year, the Windber Area School District participated in a similar PA CareerLink-supported employment program and experienced tremendous success. We hired several student workers through this partnership and received more student applicants than available positions, demonstrating a strong interest among students who are eager to work, gain experience, and contribute to our community.
Because of this high level of student interest, we would like to work collaboratively with local employers to host a community summer job fair. The goal of this effort is to connect employers willing to serve as worksites with students seeking paid summer work. Through this partnership, PA CareerLink will cover student wages, reducing financial burden for employers while providing students with valuable, real-world work experience in a professional setting.
Employers who participate will have the opportunity to:

Support and mentor students as they develop workplace and life skills

Receive assistance at their worksite during the summer months

Screen and work with potential future employees

Give back to the local community by helping prepare the next generation of workers
