Share Your Career and Inspire a Windber Student
Windber Elementary School is inviting local professionals, businesses, organizations, and community members to participate in our Careers in the Classroom event on Friday, November 20, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Careers in the Classroom connects elementary students with professionals from a variety of fields. Through these conversations, students can learn about different occupations, discover the education and training required for various careers, and begin thinking about their own interests and future goals.
Presenters are encouraged to explain what they do, why their work is important, and how their profession benefits the community. Whenever possible, we also encourage presenters to include an age-appropriate, hands-on activity to make the experience engaging and memorable for students.
We welcome participants from all career fields, with a particular interest in high-priority occupations identified by Southern Alleghenies Workforce Development, including:
-
Education and Training
-
Health and Human Services
-
Architecture, Technology, and Construction
-
Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security
-
Agriculture
Presentations should be approximately 30–45 minutes and include time for students to ask questions.
