Starting off the second quarter, Tomlinson scored a touchdown on a 16-yard run, making the score 20-0 Ramblers. Midway through the quarter, Windber’s Gino Flori had an outstanding 20-yard run, breaking tackle after tackle, putting the Ramblers in the red zone. Windber capitalized on Flori’s exceptional run, when Freshman Nick Dom jumped to catch the ball in the back of the endzone, with Tomlinson again taking it in for the 2-point conversion, making the score Windber 28 Blacklick Valley 0 to end the half.
To begin the third quarter, Windber’s Gabe Shaffer scored a touchdown with Gino Flori running it in for the 2 point conversion to make the score 36-0 Ramblers.
The Ramblers kept quiet throughout the rest of the third and the fourth quarters.
With 5:30 left in the fourth, Blacklick put up a touchdown, with an unsuccessful 2 point conversion attempt setting the big win against the Vikings by a final score of 36-6.
When asked how the game went, Freshman defensive tackle Alex Stepp stated, “Well, the game went pretty good. We won 36-6 and our line stepped up and our secondary did pretty well.”
“It went great,” said Freshman Dalton Rummel, “Everyone stepped up and we did what we needed to do. We only let up six points.”
“I feel like we did really good,” stated an excited Caleb Petrunak. “It was a big accomplishment, especially with it being our last JV game of the year. I’m really proud of the team only letting up six points. We really did good as a team.”
