Windber Batters Berlin in District Playoffs

 

The Ramblers struck first early, with a goal from senior Makaela Cominsky with 20:22 left in the first half. The Ramblers followed up quickly with a goal from junior forward Caroline McClain with 17:20 left in the first half to make the score 2-0 Ramblers.
To start off the second half, Berlin’s Kara Platt scored on a penalty kick, making the score 2-1 Ramblers with 23:36 left in the game.
The Ramblers followed up with another goal from Cominsky, her second of the night, to make the score 3-1 with 4 minutes left to play.
Windber’s Caroline McClain closed the scoring with a goal at 3:53. The final score was Windber 4 Berlin 1.
When asked how the game went, freshman Gina Gaye commented, “Playing my first D5 game was a lot of fun. We did really well possessing the ball. Our defense and offense really stepped up today.”
With the win, the Lady Ramblers improved their record to 14-5 and will play a team to be determined on Monday, October 29.
