Friday the Elementary School celebrated our 11th annual PRIDE Bullying Prevention Kick Off Celebration. This year we went on an adventure with the help of our friend, Dr. Seuss! If you love Dr. Seuss stories and making our school a better place, Seussville is the place for YOU! In Station One we talked about our PRIDE Bully Prevention Rules with Mrs. Shuster and Mr. Edmondson, the Cats in the Hats. At Station Two, students discussed how they handle Grinchy Feelings, with Mrs. Minahan and Mrs. Yoder. They learned how to keep calm, buddy up, or tell an adult when someone has Grinchy feelings. Mrs. Lambert and Ms. Asel met the students at Station Three. Thing 1 & Thing 2 discussed with the students the differences between bullying, conflict, and inappropriate behavior.

At the end of the 2017-18 school year a contest was held for art students to design a mural that would be painted on the side of the Berwind Building on 15th Street.  The top three designs were submitted to Berwind and Emma York's, Class of 2019, design was chosen as the first place winner and she received a scholarship. Recently a local artist brought Emma's mural to life.   The artist, Willie Snyder, is a 1998 graduate of Bedford High School and is currently an art Instructor at Penn State, Main Campus.  Bryan Maurer assisted him.

Lights were installed that will illuminate the mural at night and they are in the process of having the stained-glass windows removed, cleaned and re-installed. The air conditioning unit will be removed and stained-glass will be installed in that area also.
