Type 1 Diabetes Educational Materials

The Division of School Health has announced recent updates to the School Code regarding student health initiatives. Under Act 117 of 2024, all Pennsylvania school entities, including public school districts, career and technical schools, charter schools, cyber charter schools, intermediate units, and nonpublic schools, are required to provide Type 1 Diabetes educational materials to parents and guardians.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, these materials will be made available to families in one or more of the following ways:

• In writing
• Electronically
• On our district’s publicly accessible website

Our goal is to ensure families have the necessary information to recognize, manage, and support students with Type 1 Diabetes.
