Meet our Staff

Amy Varmecky
Ms. Amy Varmecky NCC, LPC 
Mental Health Clinician
 
Amy earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She then earned her Master's Degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies focusing on counseling from Messiah College.
 
She is a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with experience working in both outpatient and school-based settings. Amy has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health and behavioral health needs.
 
She is also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work specifically with children, adolescents, and their families who are experiencing the physical and mental effects of past trauma and/or abuse.
 
Amy has a heart and passion for delivering services to the Windber Area School students!

Ms. Sarah Mientus NCC, LPC
Mental Health Clinician
 
Sarah graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2020 with her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has worked for a local outpatient therapy provider in Johnstown for the last 2.5 years. She has experience providing individual and group counseling services to children and adults in community-based and residential settings. Sarah is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Sarah will be joining R.E.A.C.H. at Windber Area School District and has a passion for working with youth and young adults. She is excited to begin working with the Middle and High School students at Windber Area School District!
