A MESSAGE FROM MR. RICHARD LUCAS, HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Dear High School Parents;
I am writing this letter to provide you with notice that I will be out of the district for an extended period of time beginning on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. During my time away from the High School, Mr. Virgil Palumbo will be serving in my position in the role of Acting High School Principal. Many of you may be familiar with Mr. Palumbo from your time spent at Windber Area High School as he previously served for over 2 decades as the High School Principal. Please continue to feel comfortable and confident in reaching out to the High School Office and Mr. Palumbo for any needs you may have regarding your child. The high school office may be reached at (814) 467-4567.
I want to thank you for your continued support of our school district and our efforts to provide a world-class education to each student that enters our doors each day. I look forward to returning to work very soon as our students are the driving force behind my passion for education.

Thank you,
Richard E. Lucas
Principal

To do this, we believe this must involve community-wide programs and initiatives involving parents, teachers, administrators, local law enforcement, mental health & wellness professionals, and elected officials to take meaningful action to protect our students.
