Announcing…The Windber Area Alumni Association

It will be a unique and informative experience, linking the Area’s past, present, and future as part of an effort to "revitalize" our local community.

EMMA YORK'S WINDBER MURAL BROUGHT TO LIFE

At the end of the 2017-18 school year a contest was held for art students to design a mural that would be painted on the side of the Berwind Building on 15th Street.  The top three designs were submitted to Berwind and Emma York's, Class of 2019, design was chosen as the first place winner and she received a scholarship. Recently a local artist brought Emma's mural to life.   The artist, Willie Snyder, is a 1998 graduate of Bedford High School and is currently an art Instructor at Penn State, Main Campus.  Bryan Maurer assisted him.

Lights were installed that will illuminate the mural at night and they are in the process of having the stained-glass windows removed, cleaned and re-installed. The air conditioning unit will be removed and stained-glass will be installed in that area also.
