FINAL BUDGET VOTE - JUNE 21, 2022

THE BOARD of Directors of the Windber Area School District hereby gives notice that it intends to take final action on adoption of its final budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year at a meeting at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in the Board Room of the Windber Area Middle School/High School, 2301 Graham Avenue, Windber, Pa 15963.
The proposed final budget is available for public inspection during normal working hours in the office of the Superintendent of Schools at the Middle School/High School Building, 2301 Graham Avenue, Windber.

FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION DAYS

Prior to June 1, 2022, The Windber Area School District will be preparing an application for Flexible Instructional Days and submitting the plan to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for consideration of approval. The FID plan will be for school years 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025. Any WASD stakeholder who may have questions or request to preview the plan should contact Glenn Gaye, WASD Director of Education by emailing ggaye@windberschoools.org or by calling 814-467-4567, ext 805.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS NEEDED

UPDATED 2021-22 SCHOOL CALENDAR

The Board of School Directors approved an updated 2021-22 Academic Calendar. The previously scheduled Flexible Instruction Days (FID) on November 12, January 14, February 7, March 18, and May 13 have been eliminated and are now regular in-person school days.

Windber Baseball Topples Township

The Windber Baseball Team completed a come from behind win against the Conemaugh Township Indians by a score of 11-10 on Tuesday in Windber.

MASKS RECOMMENDED - NO LONGER REQUIRED

To clarify the information from our recently updated Health & Safety Plan, Windber Area School District staff, students, and visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings as recommended by the CDC. With the elimination of the Pennsylvania state-wide PreK-12 school mask requirement - staff, students & visitors are able to choose, on an individual basis, to wear a mask or not. Masks are no longer required on school district transportation. We will continue to update our Health and Safety Plan as required.
