William Kirkwood Heading to Archery Nationals

William Kirkwood was presented with a trophy and $500.00 check by High School principal, Mr. Ric Lucas at Tuesday's school board meeting. Billy placed 3rd in the state of Pennsylvania, at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) in March. Billy will be attending NASP Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky in May with his coach Mr. Norm Williams. Good Luck!

New Scoreboard for Baseball Field

The Windber Baseball Parent's Club unveiled a new scoreboard for the Windber varsity baseball field at the team's home opener on April 12. It was made possible by generous donation from Windber H&R Block. IHG General Contractors of Windber, provided the installation."

CONGRATULATIONS TO MAE ALTMAN

Congratulations to our own Mae Altman for being selected for induction into the Cambria County Sports Hall of Fame. Mrs. Altman is our Payroll & Benefits Clerk.
Maebeth (Schalles) Altman was a basketball standout at Robert Morris University and a HS junior as part of the 1988 Ferndale High School Girls Basketball Team who will also be honored at the Cambria County Sports Hall of Fame banquet on July 7th for their second place finish in the Sate Class A Basketball Tournament.

NATIONAL SCHOOL WALK OUT INFORMATION

Windber Area High School and Middle School students wishing to participate in the National Walkout on Wednesday, March 14th at 10:00 a.m. were given the attached letter to take home to their parents. Please read this information and discuss with your child. This planned movement is presented as 17 minutes of solidarity with the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the site of this tragic school shooting.
