SAT/ACT Testing & Registration Dates
What to take to SAT/ACT test:
- Your admission ticket
- Acceptable photo ID - PA driver's license or WAHS ID form
- Two number 2 pencils with erasers
- An approved calculator
**If you need a school student ID, please stop in the Counseling Office.
Fee Waivers - If you receive free or reduced lunch, you are eligible to have 2 SAT/ACT and College Application fees waived. Some colleges will waive the application fee if registering online or attending the college open house. Stop in the Counseling Office for more information.
SAT
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is an assessment aimed at predicting academic success in college. Most students take the test in their junior and/or senior years. The SAT tests your knowledge in reading, math, and writing. It is recommended that students take the SAT (or ACT, see below) one time during their junior year, or prior, and at least once again in their senior year, if necessary.
Prior to taking the SAT, it is important to practice. Please reference https://www.khanacademy.org/sat to access practice tests/information in preparation for this assessment.

ACT
The ACT is an achievement test aimed at measuring what a student has learned in school, as opposed to the SAT which measures aptitude, testing reasoning, and verbal abilities.
The ACT has up to five components: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing section. It is recommended that students take the ACT (or SAT, see above) one time during their junior year, or prior, and at least once again in their senior year, if necessary.
